Marriage Therapy With a Certified Therapist
Initial Intake & Assessment
Includes: Gottman Check-up Assessment
90-minute Initial Appointment
Let’s be honest--marriage is tough. Everyone faces challenges. There’s no such thing as a perfect marriage, and switching partners likely won’t solve your problems.
Couples come to me with a wide range of issues:
• communication struggles
• intimacy concerns
• unmet expectations
• conflict avoidance
• feeling like the couple are just “roommates”
• doubts that the choice fell on the right person.
If you’re experiencing any of these, know you’re not alone!
The good news is that with dedication and effort, you can work through these issues in therapy.
I am passionate about working with couples, which is my area of expertise. As a certified Gottman therapist, I have received extensive training in the Gottman Method. The Gottman Method is remarkable in that it helps couples resolve deep-rooted issues and provides practical tools for breaking negative spirals in relationships.
In therapy, I offer practical practices to help:
• build friendships
• manage conflicts
• maintain trust
• create shared meaning
• set a joint list of goals
I offer to help couples release past experiences, preventing old traumas from further affecting the relationship. I also teach communication techniques to help couples smooth over rough edges as they arise, deepening connection and intimacy.
I work with couples at all stages of their relationship, whether you’ve been married for five months, five years, or 20 years. I understand that relationships evolve and transform. This process sometimes needs some tuning. An outside perspective can help identify objective issues and provide specific guidance on how to move forward and in what direction. Marriage therapy offers hope for restoring and strengthening your relationship, aligning you both to choose each other each new day.
I conduct a thorough assessment to ensure that all relevant areas are addressed. Couples complete a series of questionnaires, the cost of which is included in the initial appointment and assessment session. You will receive a detailed report to refer to as we work through it together.
